The Challenge
Long-established IT structures are common in the manufacturing industry. For our customer, an existing endpoint and managed detection and response solution had increasingly become a limiting factor.
Cybersecurity requirements had grown, but the available capabilities had not kept pace.
The customer was therefore not simply looking for a replacement for the existing solution. They wanted greater transparency into their actual attack surface, professional 24/7 monitoring, and above all more room for the internal IT team to act—without creating additional security silos.
The Evaluation
Corporate Momentum introduced CrowdStrike and the unified Falcon platform approach into the evaluation process.
As part of a joint Proof of Value, the customer was able to assess the solution directly in their own environment. It quickly became clear that the combination of Falcon Complete and Exposure Management offered significant added value compared with the previous setup.
Instead of viewing endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and operational security in isolation, relevant information could be consolidated centrally and risks assessed in their respective context.
Our Solution
As a first step, the customer selected two core components:
- Falcon Complete for 24/7 managed detection and response, as well as professional investigation and remediation of threats
- Exposure Management for continuous visibility into assets, vulnerabilities, and relevant exposures, including risk-based prioritization
For the internal IT team, this means less operational complexity and more information to make the right decisions faster.
From Project to Security Roadmap
The successful implementation is deliberately not the end of the project.
Together, we are now assessing the next relevant attack surfaces. The focus is particularly on Identity Protection, to strengthen defenses against identity-based attacks and compromised credentials, as well as the protection of business-critical SaaS applications.
The original replacement of an existing security solution is therefore gradually evolving into a consolidated security strategy based on a central platform.
The Result
Today, the customer has more than just a modern alternative to the previous solution. They now have a platform that can evolve in line with future requirements.
Especially in an industry where production availability, stable processes, and the management of cyber risks are directly interconnected, this approach creates the necessary room for further security transformation.
The key benefit: Replacing a legacy standalone solution became the starting point for a scalable security platform—with 24/7 protection, risk-based visibility, and the ability to gradually integrate additional attack surfaces into a unified strategy.
